Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Lavington Mr Murungi accused TNA of being insincere in the negotiation process adding that his party was now tired of endless interminable talks.

“These negotiations have turned out to be a wild goose chase of endless and interminable talks, discussions and negotiations in quotes. It has now become obvious that TNA has not been negotiating in good faith,” Mr Kiraitu stated.

He was accompanied by EAC Assistant Minister Peter Munya, Siakago MP Lenny Kivuti and several top level members of the party.

Mr Kiraitu further claimed that the negotiations were mere cover-ups for underhand deals intended to weaken his party which he said will not work.

Kiraitu said that it was now up to Mr Kenyatta to decide whether he is interested in the Meru votes insisting that his party will now go it alone.

“APK will no longer be part of this Trojan Horse. We have been betrayed, humiliated and stabbed in the back….not once or twice but many times by TNA and its leadership,” the minister said.

Mr Kivuti said that the party will now concentrate on its own campaigns separate from those being run by Mr Kenyatta and his party.

“We now want to concentrate in building our party around the country,” the Siakago MP said.

Mr Munya accused TNA of introducing old Kanu era political tactics that cannot be tolerated in modern day politics.

He said TNA was a personalised party outfit specially created only for the coming General Election.

“I can’t join a party that is a reincarnation of Kanu whose agenda is to take back to where we were where freedom of expression is curtailed,” Mr Munya declared.

The MPs said their party is now open to any negotiation that maybe on offer.
