Restore and Build Kenya presidential candidate Prof James Ole Kiyiapi has short-listed three names as his potential running mates.

Prof Kiyiapi has also promised to roll out a campaign strategy dubbed Operation Okoa Nchi to woo voters from the various counties. The slogan will be a rallying call for citizens to “rescue the nation from the chains of poverty, poor leadership, mediocrity and other challenges.”

“My formula to win this election is simple. I will roll out an affordable, issue-based campaign based on what Kenyans need most, not personalities,” said Prof Kiyiapi in an exclusive interview with Saturday Nation.

No alliance deals

Asked on how he plans to win the election without joining hands with other political leaders, the presidential hopeful said that it is a matter of time before disgruntled politicians who entered into “marriages of convenience” to beat the deadline for alliances come back to his party.

Though he did not name who he had short-listed to be his running mate, he promised the candidate would be a “pleasant surprise.”
