7:32 President Kenyatta is scheduled to fly out for his first official engagement outside Kenya on Thursday morning where he will join other East African Community heads of State at the regional summit in Arusha Tanzania.

7:29 William Ruto: Their (nominees) business is to deliver on the agenda we have for Kenya. In the cabinet there will only be two politicians The President and The Deputy President. The rest are professionals. Stop looking for who is TNA who is URP nominee amongst the cabinet secretaries nominees. We have not asked them which party they voted for because it is not relevant.

7:22 William Ruto: There were challenges we could not avoid today. We had a visitor from neighbouring country and the talks took most of our time. The work that we started since Tuesday of selecting Cabinet Secretary nominees is still ongoing.

7:19pm Uhuru Kenyatta: Consultation took much longer than was expected and were not able to begin the work we were undertaking until quite late. We will continue a quite longer because we still have people to consult with.

The President had on Tuesday named four out of the 18 members of his Cabinet. (READ: President Uhuru names four Cabinet members)

The nominees were Dr. Fred Okengo Matiang'i for the position of Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Mr. Henry K. Rotich as Cabinet Secretary in the National Treasury Ministry, James Wainaina Macharia for the position of Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Amb. Amina Mohamed for the position of Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
