Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi was among guests who joined Prime Minister Raila Odinga at his home for a dinner party held in honour of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Bondo on Saturday evening.

Mr Mudavadi arrived from a meeting with ODM delegates in Kitui and joined Cabinet Ministers Anyang Nyongo, James Orengo, Musa Sirma and Assistant Ministers Magerer Langata and Alfred Khangati for dinner with President Museveni.

On arrival, Mr Odinga introduced his deputy to President Museveni, who engaged him in Luhya language before they walked into the house.

On Sunday morning, Mr Mudavadi accompanied Mr Odinga to see off President Museveni.

Downplay rivalry

The two ODM leaders have in recent weeks differed on the mode of conducting party presidential nominations.

Mr Mudavadi, who has launched a fierce campaign for the ODM presidential ticket, wants the primaries to be done at the county level as per the party’s push for devolution.

Mr Odinga’s supporters favour delegates being shipped to Nairobi for a national congress. (READ: Raila, Mudavadi rivalry rattles ODM)
