The Orange Democratic Movement top elections organ has condemned the Sunday killing of four people after a party function in Rongo turned violent.

ODM's National Elections Board secretary Joseph Misoi said the party will investigate the incident and any politician found to have engineered “this heinous act of violence will be disqualified irrespective of their political status”.

Dr Misoi urged the police to arrest and prosecute the culprits.

The Board condoled the families of the bereaved and advised all the youths to avoid being used by politicians who have no regard for the sanctity of human life.

ODM Executive Director Janet Ong’era also condemned the incident saying that it was “regrettable that some politicians still use old tactics to fight for supremacy”.

She urged respect for the rule of law and conduct of ODM affairs in accordance with the laid down procedures rather than resorting to violence.

Ms Ong’era also sent condolences on behalf of ODM and urged the police to investigate the incident.

On Sunday, four people died in Rongo after an ODM function turned violent.
