ODM primaries for top seat to be done in counties

ODM’s presidential nominations will be held at the county level, Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has said.
He assured political aspirants for elective seats that the party would be transparent, fair and democratic in the nomination for the General Election.
“This time around, we will conduct the presidential nominations in each of the 47 counties where delegates will participate and come up with the outcome right at the county headquarters, unlike in the past where they were brought to Nairobi,” he said.
“In ODM we are not only interested with the presidency alone. We are actually interested with taking majority of the country’s leadership by fielding candidates for various elective seats” said Mr Mudavadi.
Other elective posts are county governors, senators, women Representatives, members of parliament and civic leaders.
Speaking in Elgeyo-Marakwet County while meeting ODM delegates at the County Council Hall on Friday, the Local Government Minister reiterated that he was in the presidential race on the ODM ticket.
He said he was certain that if he won the nominations, his party leader, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, would support him.
“It would be ridiculous for any one of us to run and not support whoever will fairly emerge the winner in the presidential nominations,” said Mr Mudavadi.
The Local Government minister was with Gender and Children’s Affairs assistant Minister and Lurambi MP Manyala Keya, Keiyo-Marakwet County ODM Chairman Francis Kigen, Council Chairman Simion Chepseba and Iten-Tambach Town Council Chairperson Mary Ruto.
Mr Mudavadi, who was barely 40 kilometres away from 64 Stadium in Eldoret town, where Presidential candidates Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto had a peace rally, offered prayers for the two, whose charges for crimes against humanity have been confirmed at the International Criminal Court.
He said their predicament was also affecting ODM. “The ICC case is a difficult process for the suspects and we should pray for our Kenyan colleagues whose charges have been confirmed by the court.”
He urged the affected parties and politicians to refrain from making remarks that might jeopardise the legal process.

If all of us are praying with the big ones whose cases have been confirmed then who is praying with those poor victims? Anyway i dont understand what these people mean by praying for suspects to win their cases and at the same time we pray for the victims to get justice. Kenyas politics!!!!!
