Mr Philip Moi wants to give his estranged wife a house to settle their marriage dispute, which is in court.

Mr Moi, son of retired President Daniel arap Moi, has told the Constitutional Court that he is thinking of securing a house for Ms Rossana Pluda.

Philip risks jail after a court issued an arrest warrant against him last month.

He is yet to be arrested.

He sent his lawyer to court on Wednesday to present a letter from a doctor indicating that he was in hospital.

Lawyer Evans Ondieki made the submission before Mr Justice Issac Lenaola to convince the judge to suspend the arrest order.

Mr Ondieki said Ms Pluda had only taken the dispute to court to humiliate Mr Moi and his family.

The judge declined to lift the arrest warrant saying that he needed to consider submissions by both parties.

He gave them seven days to file the submissions. However, the judge advised Mr Ondieki and lawyer Judy Thongori, who represents Ms Pluda, to try to bring their clients to negotiate.

Ms Thongori said that her client was ready to consider any substantial offer.

The parties will return to court on March 23 to report on any outcome.
