Eldoret North MP William Ruto on Wednesday said six more witnesses were tutored to give incriminating evidence against him over the post-election violence.

Mr Ruto said the six were transferred by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights to a neighbouring country after giving “false” evidence against him to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“They were in the same school with the other witnesses and Omar Hassan was their teacher. The syllabus was also the same — give incriminating evidence against Ruto,” he said on the phone.

This brings to eight the number of witnesses Mr Ruto, claims were influenced to give “adverse” evidence against him.

The other two were Mr Ken Braziz Wekesa and Mr William Kipkemboi Rono who have recorded statements with the CID.

Mr Omar has since denied the claims and asked Mr Ruto to stop intimidating witnesses.

On Wednesday, he declined to respond to questions.

Chief ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo has stated that he was never going to use Mr Rono and Mr Wekesa’s evidence.

He plans to file two cases against the main Kenyan suspects on December 15.
