Ruto says Cord lives in the past

URP leader William Ruto has accused members of the Coalition for Reform and Democracy (Cord) of having a preoccupation with the past.

Mr Ruto, who belongs to the rival Jubilee Alliance, said Kenyans were tired of leaders who always reminded them of the past.

Speaking in Narok on Friday, Mr Ruto said Jubilee would win the presidency in the first round.

Cord brings together Prime Minister Raila Odinga of ODM and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper Democratic Movement in an unlikely coalition that has reshaped the political landscape. The other member is Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya.

The three parties have agreed to work together to counter a formidable alliance pitting URP, Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA and Mr Musalia Mudavadi’s UDF.
