Wiper seeking new pacts, says Kalonzo

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said he is in talks with The National Alliance Party presidential aspirant Uhuru Kenyatta with a view of forming a formidable union ahead of the polls.

Mr Musyoka also said Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) has opted to negotiate with any interested party that would lead to first round win of the elections.

“We are ready to talk to anybody… in fact, on Thursday, I held such talks with Uhuru Kenyatta, and would continue to do so with other like-minded leaders” Mr Musyoka said.

While addressing a public rally in Kyuso Township, Mwingi North Constituency, VP Musyoka said he would still contest for the presidency under WDM ticket.

“I want to cover all parts of the country. Soon, I would be taking my campaigns to Nyanza, particularly to Kisumu, Siaya ,… the whole region” he said. Read (ODM, Wiper elections pact next week, says Muthama)

He also said WDM will not issue direct nominations to aspirants for the sake of free and fair party nominations.

He also urged the government to speed up the issuance of national Identification Cards so that Kenyans can exercise democracy through the ballot box.

“Those who have attained 18 years and lack proper documents should also apply for IDs” he said.
