Gorillas from Uganda have invaded Asinge location in Teso district.
They have destroyed crops and attacked the residents. Chakol division officer Carol Omoto said the beasts were moving in large numbers and invaded the location this week.
He told the Saturday Nation at the Amagoro district headquarters on Friday that the animals had mauled two people, injuring them.
“The gorillas usually frequent the location every year when they know that food crops planted along the border are ready for harvesting,” Ms Omoto said.

"The gorillas usually frequent the location every year when they know that food crops planted along the border are ready for harvesting,” ? A very strong statement!

This is impossible, there are no gorillas in eastern Uganda - they cant come to Teso unless they are using buses or planes from Bwindi Forest in the west! The author of this article should do more research. I think he'll find that the animals in question are not gorillas but baboons or vervet monkeys.
