Growth plan for Nyanza

Political leaders and professionals from Nyanza Province are working on a plan to improve the socio - economic welfare of the people.

Cabinet minister Dalmas Otieno said the master plan will entail use of modern technology in agriculture and streamlining the sugar and fishing industries besides improving roads.

β€œIn the grand coalition Government, we do not have any excuse as to why we should not deliver. Time for petty politicking is over and we must address the plight of our electorate,” Mr Otieno told journalists in Rongo Town.

The plan, he said, will be financed by the Government and development partners.

South Korea, the minister added, has accepted to build modern markets in his constituency.

Mr Otieno said operations of sugar factories would be improved to ensure their viability and sustainability.

Private cane transport firms will be set up in the Sony Sugar belt to hasten the delivery of the cash crop to the factory.
