Cabinet approves Bill to privatise sugar mills

A Bill seeking to privatise all sugar factories in the country has been approved by the Cabinet, Agriculture minister William Ruto has said.

By the end of April, a consultant will have been hired to advise the government on how the ailing sugar factories can be restructured to make them viable, he added.

He made the remarks at the weekend during the homecoming party of Nambale MP Chris Okemo at Buyofu Primary School.
