The Lake Basin Development Authority managing director Joseph Khaemba has been sent on compulsory leave pending investigations into the use of Sh40 million.

Nation has learnt that the money was used without the approval of the board.

Mr Khaemba said he authorised the withdrawal of the money to pay youths employed under the Kazi kwa Vijana initiative with the hope that they would recover it when the government eventually paid up.
