Priest told to apologise

Women leaders have demanded an apology from the Malindi priest who linked a rise in gay marriage to failure on the part of women.

Ms Betty Sharon of Coast Women in Development said that Fr Ambrose Muli should apologise within three days or else women would mobilise themselves in thousands to storm his church.

Ms Sharon said it was wrong for the priest to issue such a statement during his sermon last Sunday.

She said women would meet to consider writing a protest letter to the Vatican to demand his sacking.

Sauti ya Kina Mama Tana Delta branch chairperson Anita Komora also condemned the Father Muli’s utterances.

And Coast ODM-K coordinator Amina Abdallah asked the church to investigate the priest’s conduct.
