Sharp differences emerged among Uasin Gishu leaders on Wednesday over the sharing of resources under the new boundaries.

The differences emerged after a section of the leaders claimed that the newly created Wareng District had been allocated more resources than Eldoret East and West districts.

A cross section of the leaders who presented their views to the Interim Independent Boundary Review Commission in Eldoret town demanded that resources be shared equally and that each of the constituencies have a share of Eldoret town.

Some of the key assets said to be in Wareng District include Moi University, Eldoret Polytechnic, Rivatex factory, Catholic University, Eldoret International Airport, and part of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

It took the intervention of commission chairman Andrew Ligale to calm the situation as tempers flared. The meeting was not attended by any of the MPs from the three constituencies in the area.
