An MP has vowed to continue campaigning ahead of the 2012 General Election despite opposition from a section of lawmakers from Western Province.

Mr Eugene Wamalwa of Saboti said he would not be intimidated by those opposed to his presidential ambitions.

He added that he had a democratic right to contest the presidency without seeking the approval of any politician.

Determined

The MP announced that he would be in Kitale on March 21 for a rally to sell his presidential policies.

“I am determined to move on with my rallies and let us meet come 2012 with those in ODM who are castigating me for going for the top seat,” Mr Wamalwa told the Daily Nation.

At the weekend, ODM lawmakers who had accompanied Prime Minister Raila Odinga during his tour of the Western region, launched a scathing attack on the MP, claiming that he was being used by PNU to divide Western Province voters.
