"The SME sector plays a critical role in the creation of jobs and generating income for low income people. It has also been credited for fostering economic growth, social stability, and contributing to the development of a dynamic private sector. As such, access to financial services, innovative technologies and learning opportunities that are vital in developing a vibrant SME sector in our economy need to be enhanced. This trip is one such initiative," she said.

The regional largest lender by asset base will be sending over 70 members of its Biashara Club — a platform meant to bring together entrepreneurs to network — for international exposure in latest technologies in agriculture, new export/import markets among others.
