Port workers look on as one of the five huge power engines is off-loaded from MV Pancaldo soon after the ship docked at the port of Mombasa. The five power engines each weighing 295 tonnes and five huge generators, will be transported to Rabai for the installation of the Rabai Power Plant by the Burmeister and Wain Scandenavian Contractors (BWSC). The plant is expected to produce 90 megawatts for the Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited by the end of this year. The wide-load engines will be transported one by one using a special one man remote controlled trailer with 128 tyres to Rabai. Photo/Gideon Maundu.
