Airtel cuts SMS rates to rival telco networks

  • The largest bundle consists of 1,500 SMS where a customer will send an SMS at five cents.

Airtel has launched a new service that allows subscribers to send messages to other network at reduced rates.

Sold in bundles, the  short messages subscription service will see customers buy six SMS for Sh3 daily.

“We aim to give our customers access to affordable communication and service on our network to make it easy for them to keep in touch with family and friends during this festive season,” Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi said.
