Britam and Rafiki sign plan to fund youth

Britam and Rafiki Microfinance Bank have agreed to boost funding of youth enterprises. The one-year deal will also improve insurance cover.

The bank will provide financial and non-financial services to its customers, explore investment opportunities in successful businesses and also provide start-up growth and networking for young traders.

Britam will provide Rafiki customers access to Information Communication Technologies relevant to banking.

Britam regional director insurance, Stephen Wandera said this was an opportunity to support each other and to spur economic growth.

This will help Britam push its Linda Jamii and Kinga ya Mkulima insurance service, Rafiki Microfinance Bank chief executive Daniel Mavindu, said.
He said the insurance was reasonably priced and easily accessible through technology.

It will also give the two firms co-branding opportunities.
