East African Cables revenues lifted by Last Mile Connectivity

East African Cables has cut its losses to Sh31 million in the six months through June from Sh70 million at the same period last year.

Revenues rose to Sh2.1 billion from Sh2 billion in the period under review. The company's revenues rose 18 per cent boosted by the governments drive to increase national electricity connections dubbed the Last Mile Connectivity projects.

The company’s interest expense jumped to Sh87.7 million from Sh30 million weighing heavily on its net earnings.
