Family Bank has opened two new branches.

Located in Mwea, Kirinyaga County and Litein in Kericho County, the branches will tap into the emerging business opportunities in the regions.

The move comes two months after the mid-tier lender opened two other outlets in Malindi and Ukunda at the Coast, bringing the total network to 80.

Bank chief executive Peter Munyiri said Family is strategically targeting emerging opportunities in the counties, where it did not have a presence to expand its client network and revenues.

“We are keen to expand our footprint and hit the 100 branch mark by close of 2015, to reach and serve more customers,” Mr Munyiri said in a statement yesterday.

In July, Family opened Bomet and City Hall Annex branches. Earlier in the year, it launched an outlet in Kajiado and two in Nairobi in the race to join the top tier status by 2016.

The bank wants to raise Sh3.5 billion to fund its expansion plans.
