GT Bank clients to be served from their homes

Guaranty Trust Bank will from next month serve customers from their homes.

The financier intends to set up 16 new branches in the next four years.

Through ‘GTBank at home’, customers will book appointments with bank staff to see them at home for banking transactions.

The bank’s headquarters are in Nigeria and it launched local business in February following the acquisition of a 70 per cent stake in Fina Bank worth Sh8.6 billion.

GTBank East Africa managing director Adekunle Sonola has said: “We’re bringing in something new so we serve our customers at their convenience. The home transactions apply to large deposits and non-cash transactions.”

REGIONAL HEADQUARTERS

It plans to build regional headquarters in Nairobi and expand to Kisii, Kisumu and other counties.

“The Nairobi headquarters will serve East Africa. We already have offices in Uganda and Rwanda, and we are planning to set up an office in Tanzania too,” Mr Sonola added.

The bank has 14 branches in Kenya and is ranked Africa’s sixth biggest bank by profit. It has injected $30 million (Sh2.6 billion) as capital into the Kenyan business.

“We expect more capital shortly from our parent company and ensure that we are better able to serve our customers,” said Mr Sonola.
