Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja has been named the business woman of the year 2014 at the CNBC All Africa Business Leaders Awards.

The continental award was launched in South Africa in 2011 to identify business leaders, who are making a difference through innovation and inspiration in their industry sectors.

Ms Karanja was voted for her role in setting up and successfully running Keroche Breweries, and employing over 300 workers directly.

The Keroche boss is currently carrying out a Sh5 billion upgrade, with the commissioning of a new plant which is planned for the first quarter of 2015.
