Kobia picked to Commonwealth association board

Public Service Commission chairperson Margaret Kobia was last week elected the deputy head of a global professional body of public administrators.

Prof Kobia is now the vice president and board member of the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) which brings together government bureaucrats from 54 member countries of the bloc.

The career public administrator beat a strong field of competitors to clinch the position, joining a growing list of Kenyans who hold top positions in global bodies.

“The appointment is an honour and also a manifestation of trust that CAPAM and the Commonwealth countries have on Kenyan public service transformation,” PSC said in a statement.
