Lapsset workers set to sharpen skills in Seoul

Civil servants working on Lapsset projects will benefit from a South Korea scholarship plan aimed at sharpening their skills in high-value infrastructure works.
The two-month training sponsored by the South Korean government will take place in Seoul from the fourth quarter of 2014.

The workers will be trained on design, construction and management of high-value infrastructure projects and master planning of new cities.

The plan was revealed during a meeting between director-general and CEO of Lamu Port Southern Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) Corridor Development Authority Silvester Kasuku and the South Korean minister for infrastructure, land and transport, Mr Suh Seoung-Hwan.

The discussion took place on the sidelines of the ongoing global infrastructure cooperation conference in Seoul.

“The training will strengthen the capacity of our government to understand the urgency, dedication and precision in delivery of high-value priority national infrastructure,” said Mr Kasuku.
