NMG, GOTv in countrywide digital migration drive

The agents are assured of good profits as they acquire the decoder at a discounted price of Sh830 against the retail price of Sh1,400.

The Nation Media Group and GOtv have embarked on countrywide tours to promote digital migration among Kenyans.

The two companies have partnered in a move to create awareness on the ongoing GOtv Dunga Milli campaign as well as recruiting new agents for the GOtv decoders and subscribers.

Their caravan, featuring popular Nation FM and QFM presenters, will this weekend head to Bungoma, Webuye, Malava and Misikhu towns for the western tour. Following the digital migration, more Kenyans are now viewing their favourite channels via set-top boxes or decoders.

Newly recruited agents stand a chance to win Sh500,000.

The companies are hoping to interest investment groups, popularly known as Chamas, who stand to benefit from the campaign.

The NMG experiential team will be doing rounds at the invite of the chamas during their weekly status sessions to explain the activation mechanism and carry out product demonstrations. There will be lots of instant prizes to be won.

The caravan has already been on a Mt Kenya tour, traversing through Karatina, Chaka, Nyeri, Narumoru, Othaya Nanyuki, Timau, Meru and Embu towns culminating in rhumba extravaganzas hosted by QFM presenter Dokotolo Lawi.

After the western tour, the caravan will go to the Nyanza region.
