Naivas poaches back top Uchumi executive

Uchumi Supermarkets' Chief Operating Office Willy Kimani has left the retailer to return to Naivas Supermarkets, eight months after making the switch.

Mr Kimani was wooed from Naivas to Uchumi alongside Chief Executive Officer Julius Kipng'etich, who left Equity Bank in September last year to help revamp the struggling retail chain.

“Naivas Limited today announces the appointment of Mr Willy Kimani as its Chief Commercial Officer. He returns to Naivas where he was head of Marketing ICT and Business Development,” a notice by the local retailer read.

Mr Kimani will run Naivas Supermarkets' commercial strategy to grow revenue.
