The number of tourists visiting Kenya from China is on the rise with the country hosting the largest delegation this week.

The group of 110 tourists is the largest number to visit at a go with Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) saying that was an indication of the country’s success in tapping emerging markets in Asia.

KTB hosted the tourists to dinner at the weekend. The tourists will visit Hells Gate National Park, Masai Mara and the Aberdares.

KTB Managing Director Muriithi Ndegwa said the rise in number of tourists from Asia is a grand endorsement of Kenya as a leading destination despite the challenges the country has faced.

Mr Ndegwa said terrorism was not unique to Kenya and that the government has put in place measures to deal with the situation.

KTB has been working with Beijing Global Tours to market the country in China as a tourist destination.
