French car maker, Renault, has made a return to the local vehicle market. The company unveiled three car models and a new showroom along Mombasa Road on Friday.

Renault cars will be distributed by Simba Caetano Formula (SCF) — a partnership between Simba Corporation and French Salvador Ceatano.

“We have not been very conspicuous in the market but with this launch, we have new cars that will compete in terms of price with the second-hand market locally,” SCF general manager Nashir Kassam said.

The French car manufacturer launched the Renault Duster, Renault Fluence and Renault Koleos models.

Prices range between Sh2 million and Sh5 million plus VAT. The new cars come with three years of servicing or first 100,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

Plans are underway to introduce the full range of Renault’s seven models.

The company pumped about Sh9 billion to set up its Nairobi showroom and workshop. Plans are in top gear for Renault to open shops in Kisii, Kisumu and Mombasa.

Kenyan Renault car owners would also benefit from the service centre established by Renault despite having been supplied by a different distributor according to Simba Caetano Formula.
