Huawei launches Ascend P7 smartphone in Kenya

Chinese company Huawei Wednesday launched the Huawei Ascend P7, dubbed the slimmest smartphone, to compete with other mobile phone companies.

The launch, that was the third after the first in France, placed Kenya among top technology consumers worldwide.

Speaking during the launch, Huawei Kenya CEO Dean Yu said the competition in the industry is becoming stiff prompting them to be innovative.

“We are constantly coming up with newer and ever more agile products to suite todays’ consumers who are people always on the move but at the same time need to be in touch with one another,” he added.

Retailing at Sh54,999, Ascend P7 has set a new record as one of the slimmest 4G LTE smartphones in the market at 6.5 mm slim.

The display is 5-inch full high definition with a glass covered back creating a perfect finish.

The front-facing camera has an 8MP BSI sensor and features modes like face enhancement and ‘selfie’ panorama.
