Stakeholders in the tourism sector in sub-Saharan Africa are scheduled to meet in Ethiopia at the end of the month to review recent developments in the industry and chart the way forward.

A statement from the Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF) 2014 secretariat, said the conference would be held in Addis Ababa, on September 29, bringing together senior government officials and private sector personnel.

Initially, the conference had been planned to take place in Nairobi earlier in the year, but the venue was changed in the wake of repeated terrorist attacks.

“Big issues such as the importance of conserving Ethiopia’s and Africa’s tourism assets and connecting each of the African countries through good, new infrastructure will also be discussed,” a statement from the AHIF reads.
