President Uhuru Kenyatta to open infrastructure summit in Mombasa

- The Summit is a follow-up of the 1st Conference held in Uganda in June, 2013 and aims at taming spiralling business costs and concerns over huge projects lagging behind schedule. It brings together Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Wednesday officially open the 2nd Infrastructure Summit of Heads of State and Government at Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa.
The President is scheduled to arrive for the Summit at 10am.
The Summit is a follow-up of the 1st Conference held in Uganda in June, 2013 and aims at taming spiralling business costs and concerns over huge projects lagging behind schedule. It brings together Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
The President and visiting Heads of State and Government are also scheduled to attend the commissioning of Berth No. 19 at the Port of Mombasa.
The 240 metre long new berth is expected to boost container handling operations and increase capacity at the Port.
