Mwebesa appointed CfC boss

Chris Mwebesa has been appointed the Managing Director of CFC Stanbic Financial Services. 

Mr Mwebesa, the outgoing chief executive of the Nairobi Stock Exchange, returns to a familiar stable having worked with the firm then - Stanbic Investment Management Services East Africa.

In a statement, to the media, CFC Stanbic Holdings said the Mr Mwebesa would assume the position on January 22 2009.

This follows the expiry of his notice to the board of NSE on December 31.

“I am excited at the opportunity to once again be part of the Stanbic family and I look forward to providing reliable financial services to the market” Mr Mwebesa was quoted in the statement.

He replaces Mr Sunil Sanger, whose contract with the financial service provider ends.

At the bourse, Mr Peter Mwangi, a former chief executive of Centum Investments, a listed firm, has replaced Mr Mwebesa.
