Jubilee Insurance Company, the largest insurer in East Africa, is spending over Sh20 million in a month-long series of events to mark its 75th anniversary.

The countrywide celebrations kicked off on Friday in Nakuru with day-long activities that included interacting with potential and existing clients, and coincided with the moving of the branch offices to the new Polo Centre.

The celebrations will double up as campaigns to create understanding of the company’s products and receive customer feedback.

Earlier in the year, the company declared a bonus share issue in the ratio of one to 10 for the third consecutive year.

Chief operating officer Lydia Kibaara-Nzioki said the company will offer a 10 per cent discount on all new insurance policies that customers sign up in the next 30 days.

The fair that included a free medical checkup for all attendants targeted 5,000 participants in Nakuru alone.

Jubilee boasts a strong presence in all East African nations. In 2010, it opened subsidiaries in Burundi and Mauritius. Its five-year plan includes expansion into 12 more countries across Africa.
