Kenya will host over 500 delegates starting Wednesday, in one of the largest convergence of stakeholders in the African dairy industry.

Organised by the Eastern and Southern Africa Dairy Association, the three-day forum brings together participants from more than 45 countries in and outside Africa to discuss the application of technology in creating solutions to the challenges facing the dairy sector.

Speaking on phone, Eastern and Southern Africa Dairy Association executive director Peter Ngaruiya said the forum would focus on boosting technology transfer and trade within the continent and abroad.

He noted that some of the problems the sector faces today, such as fluctuation of supply, can be addressed through transfer of knowledge in such forums and employment of technology to enhance efficiency.

“We expect the forum to engineer tangible solutions to the current problems facing the sector,” he said.

The conference will be held under the theme: Driving competitiveness through technology.

The theme was set by directors of local companies in the dairy industry.

Foreign participants are expected from the USA, China, Netherlands and Turkey.
