Former Ogilvy Kenya Group chief executive officer Koome Mwambia has made a comeback, launching a new marketing communication firm, Redhouse Group Ltd.
The group, which is a joint venture with Media Edge Interactive — relaunched last month — has six subsidiary companies.
Mr Mwambia, who was in 2010 bought out of his investment in Ogilvy Kenya by ScanGroup, will be the group’s chief executive.
Mr Kenneth Kyaka takes the position of strategic planning director, a position he held at Ogilvy Kenya.
The group, which says it plans to spend over Sh252 million in rolling out, has Mr Okoth Obado, the former managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations, taking a similar position as the managing director of Redhouse PR.
At Media Edge Interactive, Ms Esther Ngomeli retains her position as managing director, as does Mr Alfred Ng’ang’a, who is the general manager of Media Edge Public Relations.
“As investors, we want to bet on tested and tried professionals and ensure that beyond the traditional attractive perks, our senior talent drive their business units informed by the burden for results and anchored on long term commitment to service client business and grow the bottom line”, Redhouse Group chairman Anthony Wahome said in a statement to media houses.
The group structures look designed to replicate ScanGroup, which is also made of several subsidiaries carrying similar operations but managed differently, with the only common denominator being the central group reporting role.
“I am delighted with the prospects that the new joint venture with Redhouse presents us the opportunity to scale up our operations together and be part of a global network and practice”, said Ms Ngomeli.
Redhouse Group will spend Sh168 million to expand business to East African region, initially targeting Uganda and Tanzania.
Redhouse Advertising and Redhouse Media will be set up by the end of September.
Other subsidiaries making the group include Media Edge Interactive, Media Edge PR, Real Edge Productions and Redhouse PR.
Apart from the joint venture with Media Edge, the group has been in discussion with three global network conglomerates since June 2012.
