Lessons on night driving

“Many drivers in Kenya do not heed traffic rules and regulations. We have laboured to re-train our drivers and teach them the benefits of safe driving”, he said after receiving the award in Nairobi last Friday.

Mr Omar lamented that there were no training schools in Kenya that offer lessons on night driving, yet many Kenyans drive at night.

“At Roy Transmotors, we are sacrificing as much as we can to maintain order on the road”, he said, adding that most of their trucks do not travel at night in line with the law, except for those ferrying perishable commodities.

“Even then, our drivers adhere to traffic laws governing such transportation”, he said.

He added that they have strict laws against drug abuse by drivers and they conduct regular refresher courses to enhance safety awareness.
