Six injured as explosion rocks Mandera town

Six people were on Monday evacuated to Mandera Hospital after an explosion at a shop near Blue Light Hospital in Mandera Town.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Red Cross has temporarily suspended operations in Rhamu Town, Mandera North constituency, due to security concerns for its personnel.

On Sunday, an ambulance was attacked near the town and the ambulance operator injured.

Rhamu Town has been the scene of heavy fighting between warring clans since Sunday.

According to Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow, the initial attacks started on a lesser scale on Thursday and ballooned into full-scale fighting on Sunday morning between militias from the Garre and Degodia clans.
