AP officers on spot again over herder’s killing

The Administration Police (AP) are on the spot again following the killing of a herder in Marsabit County on Sunday.

Governor Ukur Yatani told the Nation by phone: “We had an unfortunate incident where a policeman killed a herder yesterday (Sunday).”

The governor said APs used live bullets after China Road Construction Company denied herders water from a community borehole.

The firm is building the Marsabit-Moyale road.

He said Godana Wato Molmola, 23, was shot in the head from behind by an AP at Kambi Nyoka, 70 kilometres from Marsabit Town.

“We demand the immediate arrest of the AP and thorough a investigation by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority and other relevant agencies carried out,” Mr Yatani said.
