At least fifteen people are feared dead in fresh clashes in Baragoi, Samburu County.

Eight people were reportedly killed during a raid at Lomirok early Sunday morning when heavily armed attackers raided the village.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that another six, among them women and children, were killed at Sarma along the Samburu-Marsabit border Sunday night.

No animals were stolen during the raids.

The first attack occurred in the same area where more than 40 police officers were killed in November 2012.

Their weapons were stolen and it took about four days to recover their bodies.

Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Mr Osman Warfa flew to the area using a police chopper Monday morning and was expected to give a media briefing later.

He flew from the Rift Valley Sports Club at around 10am.
