Five dead after bus and saloon car collide in Bomet

  • According to Bomet Deputy OCPD Jeffa Mwera, the driver of the bus was allegedly overtaking on a hill and collided head on with the saloon vehicle.

Five people died on Sunday when a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident on the Bomet-Narok highway.

Four of the victims — a man and three boys — died on the spot while a girl was pronounced dead on arrival at Longisa County Referral Hospital.

The 3pm accident which occurred near Longisa Boys Secondary School involved the saloon vehicle that was headed to Narok from Bomet and a bus that was headed to Nairobi from western Kenya.

According to Bomet Deputy OCPD Jeffa Mwera, the driver of the bus was allegedly overtaking on a hill and collided head on with the saloon vehicle.

The Kenya Red Cross had earlier reported that 25 people were injured in the accident.
