Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau launches bid to unseat Murang’a Governor Wa Iria

Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau Saturday formally launched his bid to unseat Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria in the 2017 elections.

Mr Kamau used the event to thank Kigumo voters for electing him for two consecutive terms.

“I have agreed to face it out with Wa Iria.

“I am sure that come 2017 we will be taking over the county government,” he said.

More than 11,000 supporters thronged Kigumo Bendera High School grounds, the venue of the launch.

In attendance were MPs Alice Wahome (Kandara), Muthomi Njuki (Chuka/Igambang’ombe), Maison Leshomo (Samburu), Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East) and Mohamed Elmi (Tarbaj).

Security was tight with police road blocks erected on all roads leading to the venue.
