Fire breaks out in Kaimosi High School, razes dormitory

A fire broke out at Kaimosi Boys High School in Vihiga County on Friday morning, destroying a dormitory and personal effects.
The huge fire started early in the morning when students were preparing for classes.
Firefighters from Kakamega County are currently at the scene trying to control the blaze.
When the Nation visited the school, students’ personal effects, including burnt mattresses and blankets, were strewn all over the compound.
This is the second school to experience a fire incident in the county, after a blaze gutted a dormitory at Givole High School last month.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
Kaimosi joins a long list of schools hit by fires in the past one month, 20 of them in the Kisii region.
They include football giant Itierio Boys, Nyamache Boys, Naikuru Secondary, Itierio Girls.
