Family left landless as plot grabbed

Members of a family in Narok South are fighting to reclaim their 200-acre land from a private developer who allegedly acquired it through irregular dealings at the county lands registry.

Mr Kishamuri Nkotiko and his three sons learnt that they were landless when they went to the lands registry in Narok to do a search on their farm in Majimoto division.

Mr Nkoitiko said yesterday the search report gave a different name. He said the developer acquired a Sh8 million loan against the property.

According to the green card, the parcels 885, 900, 889 and 886 were bought through committee members of a settlement scheme from a woman allegedly indicated as the owner.

Narok County land executive Morgan Siloma said committee members of the settlement scheme, Narok land registrar officials and the private land developer would record statements with the police on the matter.

He assured the family that they would get their land back.
