A lawmaker’s claim that Governor John Mruttu transferred the county headquarters illegally has escalated the differences between area MPs and the county boss.

Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu on Wednesday accused the governor of organising a ground breaking ceremony for the new county headquarters without following the right procedure.

Mr Mwadeghu was reacting to an invitation to the function. He said that as a leader, he should have been involved in the decision to move the headquarters.

“When we were initially deciding that Mwatate was the ideal place, all of us were involved and voted. The same thing should have happened when going to Mgeno.”

The MP said the governor should have moved a motion in the County Assembly to discuss the matter. Voi MP Jones Mlolwa said he was invited for the ceremony and would only attend it to speak out his mind.

“I am not happy with how the county is being run and I will tell the governor to his face that he got it wrong,” he said. County women rep Joyce Lay called for close consultation in implementation of development projects.
