Two people were killed by unknown gunmen on Wednesday night in Garissa Town.
Garissa Deputy County Commissioner Dominic Kyenza said unknown armed men opened fire on people in the Bulhan area, killing one on the spot and seriously wounding another.
He said the victim, who was rushed to Garissa Referral Hospital, succumbed to his injuries.
Mr Kyenza said police had launched investigations into the incident.
He said police had increased patrols in the town and urged members of the public to share information that would lead to the arrest of the attackers.
