Isiolo Governor Godana Doyo and his delegates were on Sunday stuck for four hours after the road they were to use was cut off by floods.

They were heading to an event to celebrate how the county has repaired roads and other infrastructure since 2013.

Some of the vehicles in the governor’s convoy were abandoned due to impassable roads in Kinna, Garba Tula and Erasaboru.

The celebrations were delayed for hours and ended late following the heavy rains.

In his speech, Mr Doyo said more than 500 kilometres of roads across the county would be murramed before the end of the current financial year.

He added that the county government has spent Sh900 million to improve roads in the past three years.

Mr Doyo also pledged to improve the road network in the region.
