Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Tuesday evening arrested Isiolo County Assembly Majority Leader Adan Wako following claims that he had assaulted a public servant.

Mr Wako, who is also the Kinna Ward representative, is said to have hit Mr Mohamed Halakhe with a torch after chaos erupted at a funds drive.

Isiolo District Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) Peter Ndubi said the MCA was arrested in Isiolo for the offence which was allegedly committed last week at Kinna hall in his ward.

He, however, escaped spending his night in police cells after paying a Sh10,000 bail.

The complainant suffered head injuries and was treated at Garbatulla Sub-County Hospital.

“We are still investigating the assault case,” said Mr Ndubi.

The DCIO said the MCA will be arraigned in court after investigations are complete.
